About

Work

Hello! I’m an aerospace engineer and entrepreneur.

Most recently, I developed a medical device to cure snoring at Serene Sleep. Previously, I built unmanned airships as CTO/Co-founder of Buoyant Aero, with the goal of shipping cargo to remote areas cheaply. Prior to that, I spent 3 years building communication satellites as an engineer at Astranis and OneWeb. We flew spacecraft to connect communities to the internet.

I have a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Physics from MIT. I worked on a lot of interesting technology there, including a cubesat that demonstrated a deformable mirror in space, and tractor beams. During the summers I interned at NASA JPL, writing simulations to design the Next Mars Orbiter.

Personal

I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and will always be a midwesterner.

I currently live in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco. SF is amazing, beautiful, and sometimes challenging. I like cold weather, and it weirds me out that winter exists in California, but only in the mountains. I’ve lived in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Pretoria (South Africa), and Washington DC. Cities of 0.5 - 1 million people are ideal.

I grew up in a house with stacks of books on every surface and continue to read habitually. Growing up, I read lots of fiction, particularly science fiction. As an adult, I learned that the real world is really interesting too, so now I read mostly non-fiction.
